Polipropilene Superstiro in Reels for the Wrapping of Tubolar Items in the Roto-Traslaction Process<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

Developed at the beginning of the 90ies thanks to the company’s research on materials Polipropilene Superstiro<\/strong> is used for the production of composite materials made with epoxy and polyester resins and with glass, carbon and arammidic fibers.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Polipropilene Superstiro has been specifically designed to give extremely high tension forces <\/strong><\/span> and apply thus the maximum specific pressure on the tubolar surface.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

It is used in the roto-translaction process<\/strong> for the manufacturing of tubolar elements<\/strong>, both in direct contact and as over wrapping.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In particular it is very effective for making tubolar elements with an high thickness of composite’s walls. These tubolar items must have outstanding structural properties<\/strong> and require the best compaction of the many layers of prepregs they are made with.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

General Features of Polipropilene Superstiro in the Manufacturing of Composite<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

 <\/p>\n

Polipropilene Superstiro is made on our specifications<\/strong>, with a targeted recipe concerning the polypropylene grade and a peculiar production process which gives mechanical strength and other physical features.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

This film has extremely high mechanical properties<\/strong> and a limited heat-shrinkage<\/strong> during the curing cycle.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The special formulation of the film permits to use it with medium-high temperatures of polymerization<\/strong> (up to 140-150 C).<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Thanks to the special chemical-physical composition Polipropilene Superstiro has release capabilities<\/strong> on both sides of the film. This film is not coated with laque or silicone for release purposes. In this way no transfer of coating or silicone and no contamination of the composite is possible, and there is no need to clean or sand the item after polymerization.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

When used in direct contact with the resin a glossy surface<\/strong> of the composite is obtained. In the production of tubolar items marked steps given by the thickness of the tape are left on the surface. If it is used as over wrapping film and tensioned at the maximum a further light step on the surface could be caused.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In the roto-translaction process<\/strong> it is used in reels to wrap the rod to manufacture both in direct contact with the resin (primary wrapping) and as over wrapping film (double taping of compaction). The mechanical properties are exploited to give an extremely high tensioning to the tape and get thus an heavy compactions of the different layers of prepregs, even for walls with an high thickness.<\/p>\n

Primary Wrapping<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

 <\/p>\n

Used as primary wrapping<\/strong> it has the functions to give extremely high compaction to the different layers of prepregs in the wrapping phase, to keep all the termosetting resin within the item during the liquid stage, to give good compression to the manufactured article in the polymerization phase and to guarantee an easy release at the end of polymerization.<\/p>\n

Over Wrapping<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

 <\/p>\n

In over wrapping<\/strong> another film is commonly used in contact with the resin and Polipropilene Superstiro is used to give extremely high compaction <\/strong><\/span> to the layers of prepregs.<\/p>\n

Product Availability<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

 <\/p>\n

The available nominal thickness<\/strong> is 80 micron, the density is 0,91 g\/cm3, the nominal unit weight 72 grams per square metre, the nominal yield 13,8 square metres per kilogram.<\/p>\n
